Event Rules

All participants must read and agree to these rules during registration. By participating in the Spring BAM Classic, you agree to abide by all rules listed below.

Format

  • The tournament is a 4-person scramble format
  • Each team selects the best shot and all players play from that spot
  • Continue until the ball is holed
  • All players must contribute a minimum number of drives (typically 2-4, announced at event)

Check-In and Start

  • Registration and check-in times will be communicated prior to the event
  • Teams must check in at least 30 minutes before their scheduled start time
  • Shotgun start - all teams begin simultaneously from assigned holes
  • Late arrivals may be disqualified or reassigned at the discretion of the organizers

Golf Cart Rules

  • One cart per two players (two carts per team)
  • Follow all cart path rules as posted on the course
  • No more than 2 people per cart at any time
  • Keep carts away from greens and tee boxes
  • Reckless driving may result in removal from the event

Pace of Play

  • Please keep up with the group ahead of you
  • Be ready to play when it's your turn
  • Limit practice swings
  • If you fall behind, let the group behind you play through
  • Maximum time per hole is 15 minutes

Mulligans and Contest Purchases

  • Mulligans may be purchased at registration or during the event
  • Limits on mulligans will be announced at the event
  • Special contests (closest to pin, longest drive, etc.) may have separate entry fees
  • Contest rules will be explained at each station

Alcohol Policy

  • Participants must be 21 years or older to consume alcohol
  • Drink responsibly - do not operate a golf cart if impaired
  • Outside alcohol is NOT permitted
  • VENDORS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO BRING OUTSIDE ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ONTO THE PREMISES. Indiana Code 7.1-5-8-5(g)
  • The organizers reserve the right to cut off service to any participant
  • Please arrange for a designated driver or alternative transportation if needed

Conduct and Etiquette

  • Proper golf attire is encouraged. Tank tops, cutoff shorts or swimwear is not proper attire for the golf course.
  • Repair all divots and ball marks
  • Rake bunkers after use
  • Observe quiet during other players' swings
  • No profane or abusive language
  • Treat all participants, volunteers, and staff with respect
  • Follow all posted course rules

Scoring and Prizes

  • Scorecards must be signed and returned immediately after play
  • All scores are final once the scorecard is submitted
  • Prize winners must be present to claim prizes
  • Decisions of the tournament committee are final

Safety

  • Yell "FORE" if your ball is heading toward another player
  • Never swing when someone is in your line of play
  • Be aware of your surroundings at all times
  • In case of lightning, seek shelter immediately
  • Report any injuries to event staff immediately

Disqualification

The following may result in disqualification without refund:

  • Cheating or misrepresenting scores
  • Unsportsmanlike conduct
  • Damage to golf course property
  • Endangering other participants
  • Intoxication that affects safety or conduct
